Ani Choying Drolma, born in Katmandu, Nepal to Tibetan exiles on June 4, 1971, ran away from home at the age of 13  because of a physically abusive father.  She was welcomed into the  Monastic Nagi Gompa nunnery  and trained in the art of music and singing.  She has an enchanting voice and is now becomming fameous throughout Nepal and the world.  Ani’s music is now awakening many ancient Tibetan Buddhist chants and songs to the world.

She has received numerous awards for her humanitarian works and is a UNICEF Goodwil Ambasador to Nepal.   She has established the Nuns Welfare Foundation of Nepal, established in 1988 “To nurture, educate, empower women and to make them realize their personal potential”
