Grandmaster Chen Jian

Final Respects

We would like to pay our last respects to a Grandmaster who has passed on.  Grandmaster Chen Jian, who in his senior years shifted his focus from teaching to the healing art of “Bonesetting”, has passed at the young age of 71.

It was less than 2 years ago Grandmaster Chen Jian performed at the 10 anniversary celebration of Kung Fu Tai Chi Magazine Gala.  Grandmaster Chen was a former Front Page celebrity of the magazine.  And by the way, this was just a couple years ago.  Amazing!

I’m a self taught student of the art of bone setting, I started at 19 or 20 when I realized a need to gain or regain flexibility from several injuries and inspired by internal arts just as much if not more than external. His dedication was truly amazing to maintain that level of control and flexibility at 69, it’s a delicate struggle at 38. Rest in peace & harmony Grandmaster may your wisdom and technique live on to help many more generations of artists.

I welcome your thoughts, insights or questions
