Tai Chi Grandmaster

This is a “vintage” video (can you believe that 1981 counts now as “vintage”? ) of Grandmaster Jou Tsung Hwa as he teaches students in Harlem, New York, back in 1981.  This video came from “the private film archives of Sifu Carl Albright” so we thank you Sifu Carl for making this available for our enjoyment on You Tube.

Grandmaster Jou Tsung Hwa is probably best remembered as the author of The Dao of Taijiquan: Way to Rejuvenation.  With this book Grandmaster Jou helped introduce Chen style Tai Chi Chuan to America and is today considered to be one of the foundational Tai Chi reads. (see Amazon link below for further inquiry).

If you would like to help me calm and heal a stressed-out world, while teaching the next generation skills that will help build their mind, body & soul for life, then please consider sharing this blog post and let’s make the play of Tai Chi (taiji) and Qigong as common as Soccer!

Person shown with shirt off from .23 to 1’19” is not Master Jou… it is his student, Victor Franco. Master Jou appears after, returning energy to student Richard Green (I believe) and Victor.
