Tai Chi Event

Don’t you just hate it when you find a nice video posted on Youtube, but the publisher didn’t include any info about the video we are watching?   That’s the case with this mystery tai chi event video I found today.  It is a newly posted video, only being on YouTube a couple months (as of today) and all we know is that it is published by Kim Coo.

Nice photography, audio has some background noise due to the crowd, but it does not detract from the performance.  In fact, I think it adds a fun quality and speaks to the integrity of this venue which appears to be a tai chi demonstration in a community park somewhere.   Since most people enjoy gathering together in community centers and parks to play tai chi together, I rather like the soft background hum of people stirring and walking, with the overshadowing of tai chi music playing for the group.

What style would you say is being played in this video?

I wonder where this was filmed?  What was the occasion, and is it a yearly event?  If you know any details about this video, feel free to share them with us here in the comments section.  It may take up to 48 hours for your comments to be visible, since all comments go through spam-filters for the protection of this site and our visitors.

It is Yang style. Having been to China many times it is probably just a park where these people meet to practice tai ji quan…you can see this almost everywhere in China everyday with your best chances in the early a.m.

hm, let`s do some Sherlock Holmes work here 😉

I recognize a lot of the movements, so I would suggest it is Yang style.

Some of them have a flag on the back of their pullover, I would say it is the flag of Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia.

    That`s all I can contribute!
